About
Privacy
Anonymous by design. The site never asks your name, email, party or address, sets no cookies, runs no ads, uses only cookieless aggregate analytics, and builds no profile of your views.
What does the Forward Board keep?
- What you post: ideas and questions you add, with the time they were added.
- Your slides and MyPriority points: numbers only, tied to an anonymous device code.
- The anonymous device code: your browser makes a random code and keeps it in its own storage (localStorage, not a cookie). The server stores only a scrambled form of it (a salted SHA-256 hash), used so each person's latest slide counts once. Clear your browser storage and the code is gone.
- Rate limits: a scrambled, one-way code made from the connection and the day, used to stop flooding, deleted after 48 hours.
Your own slides, points and card are also kept in your browser so you can see them again. Nothing else leaves it. The sliders on the old fights page never leave your browser at all.
What about corrections?
Corrections you send: the page, your message, any source you suggest, and your email only if you choose to give it. Used only to check and fix errors and to reply to you. Deleted after 180 days.
What analytics does the site use?
Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and visits and measures how fast pages load, in aggregate. Cloudflare says it does not "use any client-side state (like cookies or localStorage) for analytics purposes," does not track visitors over time by IP address or browser details, and that it "does not collect or use your visitors' personal data." Sources: Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation and Cloudflare's announcement. Browsers with ad blockers often block it, and the site works the same either way.
What about server logs?
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes requests, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The site itself stores no IP address.
What does the site never collect?
Party, voting intention, name, email (except a correction reply you choose), address, advertising identifiers or a political profile. A licensed lawyer reviews before any identity field is ever added.
Who do I ask about privacy?
Questions about privacy go through the corrections page.
